Base unit will not switch on

I have a Packard Bell base unit, only 9 months old with windows Vista. Was fine yesterday but when i went to switch it on today, it wurrs for 2 seconds and turns off. I have removed all the hardware attached and just put the neccersary hardware and leads back in but it still does the same. Has the PSU gone? Thanks for any help you have.

The PSU is one (the most likely) possibility, Alastrina.

I bought an external hard disk that did that from brand new.

Before I replace the PSU, what other likely causes are there that I can try?

Take it back, would seem the obvious route to go as the basic warranty is 12 mths.

Agree with oldbeefer2 - you'll screw up the warranty if you go mucking about inside.
