Backing up files

I am running Office 2000 (upgrade) on a machine with ME operating system. Unfortunately due to a power down there has been some damage to the Office programme. If I try and run Excell I get the following error message "Required registry information is missing and this application acnnot run. Please rerun setup to correct this problem".

If on the otherhand I try and repair Office it I get the following error message "Error 1402 could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\9.0\WORD\install Root. Verify that you have suffient access to this key, or contact your support personnel".

Can some one please give me guidance as to how to overcome this.

Also so that I don't loose my Outlook (which I also can't open) adress book and emails which files should I copy to keep these.

For outlook, copy your *.pst file - it has your data there.

Have you tried a reinstall of Office?
