lol, use a nero style recording device and use cd's, but be warned, you will need a lot..

You need to tell us a few things first. What size hard disk do you have? What operating system are you using? Do you have a CD Rewriter disk drive? Floppy disks are not any good anymore for doing backups unless you have hundreds of them. Do you mean a whole system backup or just your own personal files?

Why not use Norton Ghost or PowerQuest Drive Image or Acronis True Image?

All will back up to CDs with compression.

I would get a DVD-R before hand though, or a external HDD.

a real good hard drive backup program is restore it. i would pollish the shoes of its creator, saved me lots of tears and frustration, as for power quest, they used to do some stuff for win me but their software got re-called because of some serious errors, so be warned, and remember to turn your systems restore off before using 3rd party software.
