Away message for Outlook

  [DELETED] 09:54 18 Aug 2003

Morning, can someone give me a few pointers on how to set up an automated response for an away message for five days in O.E. please?
Have tried in the past but got quite mixed up.

Thank you,

Nick Jones

It is generally *not* a good idea to set up OE to do what you want - some of the reasons are outlined at click here

If you still want to do so, click here

First create the message in Notepad and save it as an "All file **" document.

Open "Messages" from your toolbar, select "Create Rule for Message".

In the first box tick and select "all messages".

Then in box 2 select "Reply with message".

In box 3 select "message" (this will be underlined in blue). Navigate to the previously created message and open it, the message will then be attached to all out going emails.

Fair point Jazzypop...thanks.

I'll see if Freeserve do a holiday-away notification.

Thank you both again,

Its been suggested that you don't tell people you are on holiday as it becomes a security risk. If a company address is used then people may find out an employee is away and they may be tempted to pay a visit to the home of that employee. If a home email address then your home is at risk as people may know you will be away.
