AVI transfer

I have windows XP, currently have a few .AVI files and wont to convert these onto a dvd which then can be played away from PC. can someone point where i can get a free copy of this..please treat as newbie..thanks

You need an AVI to VOB converter, that is if you don't need to edit them before conversion. If you want to edit them, then thats another complicated story. Someone should be able to help you with some freeware. David

I have the reloaded version, erm I could suggest winAVI but you have to pay for that. It is extremely fast and reliable.

You could try using Windows Moviemaker to put them onto CD.

You would need to import the .avi file into MM2, and then create a movie and then use the save the movie to CD option. You could even edit them in MM2, if you wished.
