who have been affected by the Sub 7 Trojan. This little nasty can be very nasty indeed, and effectively turns your computer into a server, which can then be accessed by an attacker. The person concerned can gain full control of your computer, and can read, alter, or delete existing files, or place new ones on the machine.

The original infection almost certainly came with a jpeg image file in an email attachment.

the link from terminus refers to the W32 Opaserv-O virus, which copies itself to MPREXE.EXE, whereas your infection was MSREXE.EXE - which is indicative of Sub 7.
