AVG and Vista problems

Hi, i downloaded AVG but it has caused problems with my mail in that it keeps reporting a 32DLL file missing. I downloaded it from the AVG site. I have now uninstalled it. Is there a known problem with AVG and Vista?
What programme would you now recommend?

AVAST (free), I used AVG for sometime but found it slowed VISTA down and I kept having small problems with it.

Had Avast but it slowed my laptop down a lot so went to AVG and had problems there too so looking for something else free and good, or several to make sure, lol.

You must only have one anti-virus program installed as they can conflict with each other. There are lots of free anti-virus programs from click here take your pick.
