AVG updates very ponderous

  Halmer 20:11 28 Jan 2005

Don't know if it's just me but AVG seems very slow (for the last two weeks or so) in making its mind up if it has any updates and when it does it then dithers before it downloads it for me.

This only seems to be happening since I downloaded the new Windows XP Beta Spyware thingmebob but it may be a coincidence.

Not just you.

No, it happens to all of us Halmer. Its when the server is busy that we get the connection problem. Best time is early morning or late evening.

I must admit it seems slow the download window appears, then sometime later an info notice to click on, then some minutes later the download window comes to life & from then onwards its quick. I'm using XP Pro SP2.

my AVG starts up automatically when I log on and often takes a while before it completes the download:)

Just been to the AVG Forum, Grisoft are aware of the Update/Server problem, and are working to correct it.
