AVG - Disabling it

  Mike D 13:37 28 Oct 2007

Stupid question, I have a new PC with AVG pre-installed. I need to disable it in order to install printer software.

How do I do it?

Right-click on AVG icon in System Tray at bottom of screen and then click on Quite AVG Control Center.

Then do a re-start after you have installed Printer Software, this will re-start AVG.

Its easily done as Technotiger has pointed out but I have never had to disable my AVG in order to install anything.

Hi, I have seen this requirement on several occasions in the past. Not unusual.

  Totally-braindead 14:03 28 Oct 2007

Fair enough Technotiger just never had to do it myself with hundreds of PCs over the years and loads of hardware, admitedly some of them recommend doing it but I've never had to myself.

Thanks folks

Yeah, I have done it previously when requested by the software - I comply just to be on the safe side.

Sorry, forgot to mention - no such thing as a stupid question on this forum, if you don't know, just ask - no one here is going to think it stupid!

Ah yes, but my wife says that I give stupidity a bad name!

Thanks again.
