AVG 7.5

  Spark6 10:26 29 Oct 2006

I have succesfully upgraded AVG from 7.1 to 7.5 on this desktop, however, when I attempted to do the same on my laptop I received a message saying that some installation files were corrupt and instructing me to download a fresh copy and retry the installation. This I did, a number of times, with no success so I removed AVG and tried again.

This time, because it was now a new installation and not an upgrade, I downloaded a fresh copy to my desktop and tried to install it from there.

The result was the same as before re corrupt installation files followed by:

Extracting license_ustxt

Extracting AVG setup.exe

Extracting sporder.dll

Extracting files.dat

CRC failed in files.dat

Unexpected end of archive

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any advice on this appreciated.

XP Pro SP2 on both machines.

If you run C Cleaner after you Delete AVG, It should get rid of all traces of it, And then try downloading it again,

Many thanks. Ran C Cleaner. AVG Free installed and updated. Now to find out what else C Cleaner removed. Nothing important I hope!!!
