Auto run Win XP

  Knot2sure 16:27 24 Oct 2003

When I inserted a CD into the DVD rom drive it used to auto start. Now it doesn't. I have checked the Auto play tab in properties and checked "prompt me each time" Nothing happens. I have also checked the registry entry for CD rom and the Autorun is 1 which should be "enabled".
Any suggestions? .....

My contributon went on the lines of:-

There are a few ways to do this. My preferred option is to use Powertoys for XP. You can download Powertoys at XP

and use Tweakui. Open Tweakui> My Computer>Autoplay and ensure that the drive you want to use is enabled in "Drives". Under "types" check that both boxes are ticked.
