Auto disconnect from dial-up ISP

My computer seems to have lost the ability to auto disconnect from my ISP whenever I close IE or OE and I cannot find a switch to turn this back on. Anyone able to help please?

Thanks, Diodorus Siculus, but I should have said I have IE6 and OE6 and am on Windows XP Home with SP2 installed. The reference you quoted doesn't work with this configuration

OK - have you tried looking at the properties of the connection and see if the option "prompt for disconnect when no longer needed" (or similar) is ticked?

I've been through all similar Control Panel files and cannot find anything similar anywhere

I'm running the sam config' as you and Diodorus' solution worked for me. You want internet properties/connections/settings(dial-up)/advanced(dial-up)/disconnect when connection may no longer be needed; make sure this box is ticked and then re-boot. Good luck....

Thanks, ezscoline. That seems to have done it.
