Audio Loss and repetitive freezing during gaming

  Wajak 23:51 02 Jan 2020

I have had a self-built PC for a year now, and it always works as intended. However, whenever I play some games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Destiny 2, or Battle for Middle-Earth, the game randomly loses its audio at some points. It either stops completely, or it loops for a while. At some points, the whole game freezes, and the audio keeps looping in the background. Usually, I have to wait from 10 seconds to 1 minute before it goes back to normal, and after that, I hear all the sound I missed at once. This doesn't happen with other games, like League of Legends and Overwatch. I checked if it was a problem with overheating, but that wasn't the issue, because it's always stable.

Any idea what's causing this?

My specs are as follows:

  • GTX 1070 Ti
  • AMD Ryzen 5 2600
  • DDR4 3000 MHz
  • Windows 10 on M.2 SSD
  • Two SATA SSD
  • Corsair RM750x
  • MSI B450M

After a lot of fidgeting with task manager, I found out the issue was with my SATA SSD. Something's wrong with it, because all games on it have the same issue. The M.2 SSD however, works as intended.
