ATX PSU V1 or V2

Have an Abit A-N68SV motherboard which has an
8-pin ATX 12V Version 1 power supply socket.
Have bought Antec Earthwatts 430 Power supply which is ATX12V Version 2.2 which has two 12v plugs, one 4-way and one 6-way. I'm assuming I can use the 6-way plug.
Am I right, or have a got a compatibilty problem. There are many articles on PSU upgrades but non I've found refer to connectivity issues.

had a look at antec website and it says 20+4 and 4 pin motherboard connectors ,the 6 pin is for pci express for graphics cards. motherboards have 24 or 20+4 and 4+4 connectors on mine I use 24 and 8.

Yes, I'm using 20+4 connector. It was the other connectors, 6 and 4 pin, I was not too sure about.
Also, can a Version 2.2 PSU be used on a V1 motherboard?

you either use 4 0r 8 for the motherboard power, any psu that has the connectors available, can fit any motherboard.
