ASUS P5K LAN activation

I have recently built my new computer. The motherboard I am using is an Asus P5K board. Everything appears to be working fine, however, I cant seem to get on the internet since my LAN card is not showing up. I have checked the BIOS and it says it is enabled, and when I go into Windows it doesnt appear to work. I cant even install the drivers since the system doesnt realise it is there.

Any ideas on how to get this working?

I have the same problem.
I installed XP pro and Vista Ultimate and no LAN adapter is visible.

I also have a problem that my IDE connection is not working...

Do you already have a solution, or is my mobo broken?

I have had one P5K fail completely due to IDE not working (you have to install the latest BIOS 603, but mine still didn't work).

Now, on a clean install of XP the system totally siezes up if the LAN is enabled in the bios. This was not an issue until I installed the LAN drivers from the included CD.

Have you install the lan driver from the motherboard CD

" I cant seem to get on the internet since my LAN card is not showing up. "

have you insert a new lan card into your computer or is it the lan socket on the motherboard.

This lan socket needs drivers to make it work. The drivers for XP are click here. these are the vista drivers click here.

Also check in control panel networks, that the lan connection is enabled.
