Asus laptop not recognising battery

Hi All

Since the latest Windows 10 update, my laptop no longer seems to be recognising the battery. It looks like it's charging but then the animation stops and I get 0%, plugged in, battery charging. If I pull the mains lead out though, the laptop dies. I've tried a new battery and new lead to no avail. I've searched for a battery driver without luck. I've even thought of updating the bios but it wont let me do this as I get a message telling me that the battery has to be at least 20% charged, I suspect both batteries have some charge but the laptop isn't seeing it for some reason.

Can anyone help me please.

Thanks

Have you checked settings, system, battery to check what it shows? Try removing all power sources then hold the power button on for 30 seconds or more. If that doesn't work have a look at this forum's post, TenForums.

Sorry to say it but it sounds like the battery has finally given up the ghost.

As you are getting the same problem with 2 batteries and the problem only occured since the last W10 update, try the following click here, although it refers to upgrading to W10 the same will apply with updates.

If that fails try doing a system restore prior the latest updates.

Try running Win 10 battery report on both batteries for information. generate-battery-report-windows-10

" I've tried a new battery".

Sorry missed this in your post. Please ignore my post above.

I'm not sure that the battery report tells me much to be honest.

Wonder if the new one I've bought is dud too.
