Asus A7A-266E MoBo and Vcore settings

I have:

Mesh Matrix
Asus A7a-266E MoBo
XP HOME
XP 1900+
1024MB
60GB HDD

I recently went from 512MB to 1024MB memory and had all sorts of problems, and the PC was only happy with 768MB. I increased the voltage to the memory and it now happily accepts 1024MB memory.

I have also replaced the GeForce 3 with an ATI Radeon 9700 PRO but keep getting messages "VPU Recover has reset your graphics accelerator" and then returned to desktop.

I believe this to be a useful feature of the Catalyst 3.8 drivers but I have heard that increasing the Vcore voltage may prevent the error happening at all, as I believe the system to be based around a GeForce 3 and the 9700PRO is too demanding for the old settings.

Can anyone offer advice on how I can increase the Vcore setting to the next setting?

Thanks!
