are winfax & broadband compatable?

hi guys

just got broadband and have been using winfax for a few years.

winfax doesn't seem to recognise the asdl modem.

what am i doing wrong.

As fax is analogue, you cannot use the digital line (ADSL/Broadband) for faxing. You can re-install a analogue modem and connect to the analogue line as well as use the BB facility. I have a setup like this.

I agree with €dstowe, I use WinFax Pro with BB and have never had any problems.

I use Winfax for all my faxing. However, it must be configured to use an ordinary analogue dial-up 56k modem. You should connect this to the phone outlet socket on the micro-filter.

You can remain connected to the internet with your broadband connection at the same time.
