Appropriate Firewall for LAN

  Elyvate 15:25 18 Aug 2003

We are a small business running a small LAN of around 5-7 workstations. Is there a decent free firewall that we can install on all the workstations and server that wont infringe licensing laws. If not what about a paid one like McAfee Firewall or Nortons, these seem to be quite good too.
Thanks in advance

You would be better advised to get a hardware firwall.

My home network runs 4 PC's and net access is via a Linksys hub/router which has a built-in firewall.

Each PC also runs a software firewall, 3 use Outpost 1.0 and the other uses Tiny Personal Firewall - both are free.

Outpost is available on Oct Issue Computer Shopper cover disc.
