Any ideas on how to resolve problem please?

Have you tried safe mode, and then use last successful loading, or system restore????

  Snrub 12:27 02 Dec 2010

Was thinking of system restore but have done several updates recently and want to consider if there is a direct solution before trial and error of how far to go back with system restore.

With regarding updates, I assume you mean Windows updates. You can [as you must know] update again after a system restore!.

After weeks of tinkering, searching forums I have stumbled upon solution accidentally.

I installed a similar programme to Prism Hud called Performance Monitor 3x. When I finished installing a windows prompt box popped up with option to enable 'view manager' I clicked 'enable' and surprisingly up popped Prism Hud fully working to my disbelief, fully working! Now why couuln't Windows 7 have self diagnosed this istead of opening a windows box saying looking for solution but never finding one?
