Application Error - Unable to open Downloads Folder

Hi,

Hopefully someone is able to help as this has become very frustrating.

A few days ago when I tried to access my downloads folder it just closes the window and takes me to the desktop view.

I did a system restore as someone advised this may help but unfortunately this has not worked.

When I clicked the downloads folder in Safe Mode I got the following error:

'The exception integer division by zero (0xc0000094) occurred in the application at location 0xd7b0ed0f.'

Can anyone provide me with a bit of advice/help on how I can solve this? I am running Windows 8 if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance

I suggest you Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) several times (it can't always fix every error on first run - depends on the errors) Follow this guide from microsoft.com/kb/929833 ClickHere
