Check BIOS boot devices is IDE hard disc selected as 1st option?

What a lovely board you have.

The default settings in the bios should be to boot from IDE and SATA. Check the settings in intergrated peripherals \ onchip IDE device \ onchip serial ATA. The setting must be either disabled or auto. Make sure it's not on SATA mode.

Also in onchip IDE device, check that

IDE block mode is enabled

the onchip primary IDE device is enabled

then the next 4 IDE devices are on auto

then check the settings for the secondary IDE device, they should match those above.

The above solutions did not work. The sata screen as shown in online hand book was not there. I also didnot have the led on the hard drive lighting up. I have put the old mother board in and everything works ok. Could incorrect wiring to the front panel stop the PC booting?
