aol takes over :o(

Is it just me but little by little aol seems to take over my pc
ctrl-alt del shows the task manager and it starts with about 50,000k and builds up to over 230,000k which with other system processes pushes 'CPU usage' up to 100% and slows my pc to a halt or it becomes juddery
Is there anything i can do to stop it slowly but surely taking up all my resources?
Is there an 'aol lite' perhaps?
Any thoughts anyone?

AOL Lite = any other provider's software.
If you want to stick with AOL, you have to live with it.

Having said that, you should do the usual anti-virus and anti-spyware scans to make sure you don't have any nasties installed (other than AOL, that is LOL).

Agree with MAJ. AOL`s process waol.exe routinely uses 89,000K of memory but this amount of CPU usage is more likely to be spyware or virus.

Might be an idea to give this a spin: click here
