AOL 9 and Broadband

  Tikka 15:34 06 Jul 2004

Since installing broadband I have frequent problems with freezing on both a laptop and a PC (not networked). AOL solutions do not work. Sometimes I get a blue screen with a message warning of damage to the computer. The explanation varies but a recent one says
Disable BIOS memory options for caching and shadowing
STOP: 0x000000C2 (0x00000007,0x00000CD4,0x02100001,0x81953410)
Beginning dump of physical memory
Dump complete
Can anyone help?

Thanks Shas. My problem seems to arise (but not always)if the computer goes onto standby. I am surviving for the moment by logging off from AOL whenever I leave the computer, not an ideal arrangement but acceptable since I am only using it for 'recreation'. This seems to work but time will tell. Device Manager does not indicate any problems.

Tikka, you say AOL solutions don't help - presumably you've tried the Computer check up? Might throw some light on the problem. I have AOL9 and bb and find that the connection just drops quite often for no apparent reason, and it takes ages to open up sometimes, which never used to happen with AOL8, so maybe it's problems with AOL9 itself.

I have used bb checkup and have spent about 3 hours over recent weeks talking to advisers who have tried various solutions without success.
