Anyone getting problems with Battlefield 2145 demo

  mattyc_92 15:35 09 Oct 2006

Hi all, I downloaded BF-2145 demo last nite, and I keep getting "Do you wish to send error report" dialog messages.
There doesn't seem to be a pattern or extact time this happens. I can play for 30minutes with no errors, and other times 30seconds.

Anyone else getting this problem?
And does anyone know of a way to fix it?

Just got his e-mail back it says

Sup wolfie,

Well the problem could be a number of things from gfx driver not being updated to not having the minimum specs on the rig,

Ask for the rigs specs and whether the drivers are updated.

Also could be that it didnt install properly.

So i guess if you can post up the specs of your pc and also if you have updated the drivers.
You might also might try to install the game again.

Specs are as follows....

AMD Athlon 64 3400+ Processor
nVidia GeForce 6 6600 (256MB video memory)
2MB Broadband Connection

I have reinstalled the game, tried to update my drivers and reinstalled Directx (latest version)
I *think* it maybe when I rush to change weapons, enter/exit vicheals, etc....

I have managed to play the game for one hour, without any problems (had a few a few minutes beforehand)

Seems this error is to do with the "KB917422 Windows Update"

Quote from BF-2145 Demo Readme:
"Players who have the Windows security update KB917422 installed may suffer from an application error when running the Battlefield 2142 demo. This error can be solved by uninstalling the KB917422 update."

I am reluctant to remove this update though as it "it provents Windows Kernel from being used by an attacker to compromise your Windows-based system and gain control over it", so i guess I will have to bare with it :-(
