Any Suggestions Before I Go Off Line

  [DELETED] 22:33 01 Dec 2003

A friend of mine has brought his pc to me to have a look at.

It's been working fine with ME but now when he switches it on it runs through the boot sequence and just as it's finishing it switches off.

He has given me his restore disk and I'm quite happy to reformat the HD and reload software etc but is there anything else anyone could suggest I try before doing this?

I was thinking that maybe it could be a badly seated card or RAM perhaps? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

BTW I'm going offline because he only brought me the tower which means I've got to hook up my monitor etc to his PC!!

Thanks in advance

Start in comp and keep pressing F8 then choose selective startup and see what driver is the problem

Thanks woodchip. I'll give it a go.
