Annoying and cheating adverts popping up

  johnincrete 17:23 21 Feb 2014

Occaisionally, there are adverts popping up that will not go away. If you click on the X (close) button, or, in fact, on anything, the result is that you are taken to a web site - that's what I call cheating! Sometimes the adverts include flashing bits and is most annoying.

What can I do?

Spywareblaster is a great program that runs in the background and blocks these kind of things from installing in the first place. You just install it update it regularly and that's it! click here

is what I use in Firefox to stop this sort of thing once installed you can click on it to run whatever parts you whant and ignore the rest.

Can be a little tricky in this site for instance it disables everything so need to enable certain parts to get the B I globe etc. at the top of the reply box however I never suffer from te adverts that people complain about when using this site ;0)
