Which is supposed to be better a AMD Thoroughbred or Palomino XP cpu

  woodchip 19:13 18 Aug 2003

Mine is a Palomino XP, the power varies with work being done i.e. More work more power used

  woodchip 19:27 18 Aug 2003

I do believe the Palomino created to challenge Intel speed step for laptops

AMD PowerNow technology=Intel Speedstep

Yes but did not want to mention it, and get embarrassed I thought I would leave it to someone else. SO you got the magnifier out

Thank's very much, I was in Wales when I so it

  woodchip 20:43 18 Aug 2003

I thought it was other way round for tem

  woodchip 21:03 18 Aug 2003

Yes it will go all the way to 1900 without problems

  woodchip 21:15 18 Aug 2003

Are lad, I am getting mixed up. but temps only about 42c for CPU and 39c for system Than's

  woodchip 21:32 18 Aug 2003

Believe it or not but it runs cooler at 1900 than at 1700,although it's a 1600xp and that's about the same temp as 1900 I have only got the standard CoolerMaster CPU fan and PSU fan

I do think that certain size CPU is more clockable than others though, I have seen this before with the one that I have. Thing is it also overclockes the Banshee 3D PCI graphics That I have so if I do a Bench Mark on it at one of the Web pages I get very high score. Frequency at1900 is set to 150/150
