AMD Athlon XP2800+ speed changed to 1.25Ghz

My Pc specs are:

AMD Athlon XP2800+ Barton Core
ASRock K7S8X Motherboard
512MB DDR333 RAM
ATI Radeon9200 With 128MB DDR Memory

but when I turned on the computer today the speed has dropped from a 2.09Ghz Anthlon Xp2800+ to a 1.25Ghz!

What's happened? I haven't changed anything since yesterday. I run a spyware check with A2, ad-ware and spybot but that was clean. But this is showing a different speed on Bios stage so can't be windows.

I updated the bios to the latest one but the processor speed is still showing as 1.25Ghz.

It looks as if your BIOS battery has died. You should be able to get the speed back in the BioS settings.

sorry, but how do I do that?

I looked at the bios settings but can't see an
option for changing the speed.
