AMD Athlon CPU types

  Pusherman 16:30 08 Oct 2003

I've just been top the Microdirect website (click here) and have been looking at the AMD Athlon XP CPU's and have noticed two types of format, for example; the AMD Athlon CPU XP 2400 is described as being socket 462 whereas the AMD Athlon CPU XP 2600 is described as being socket A. What is the difference between the two, is there one?

Thanks, Pusherman.
