amd 4400+ dualcore

i have a amd athlon 64 x2dualcore processor 4400+ in my computer.i have speed tested this with programmes of the internet and they say its only running at 2200 mhz is this what it should be.i thought it would have been higher ie 4400. any one know if this is correct.

Its just the way AMD nmber there chips.

2200 x2 = 4400

two processors at 2200 woking in parrallel is therefore the equivalent of a single chip working at 4400.

it is a asus motherboard and on the pc probe tool by asus it say's current speed 2200mhz max speed 3700mhz is this ok then. thank's for the help
