Alternate memory htz to processor, ok?

Recently I purchased an Abit NF7 Mobo and fitted my old DDR 266htz memory and 2400+ Athlon 266htz processor. I am planning on replacing the current 1GB (2 * 512MB) with 2 * 1GB and wondered if it is ok to get higher rated memory (both the same obviously!) than the processor (the Mobo supports up to 400htz memory/processor).

I want to replace the current PC2100 with say PC2700 and while I am not expecting any major performance increase (if any) there is no point in buying older slower memory if it is the same price as faster memory....

There shouldnt be a problem with haveing ram that is faster than the CPU or vice-versa the PC will compensate for this.It is usual to have the same speed ram as CPU but it doesnt matter if there not.
