Try a System Restore back to before you un-installed AVG

OK, go to Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager then scroll down to USB controllers and click on the + sign, then right-click and uninstall everything shown. Close the window and re-start your computer. The USB Ports should then be refreshed.

Do the USB show in Device Manager?

Right Click My Computer Properties\Hardware\Device Manager

If they do show try turning all Power of including remove 230 volt Wall plug Remove battery if a Laptop, then press and hold Start button on putter for about ten seconds. After that restart and try USB

The found new hardware is a good sign - might be a problem with the printer - are all the other USB items working now?

I was assuming you know what a Flash Drive is, because M-System is a computer type Firm which has recently produced a mini Flash disk called Disk on Chip 2000.

This is an everyday Flash Drive, that fits in a USB port ... click here
