AGP graphic card question

  richierich 17:32 26 Oct 2007

Have an old motherboard with athlon 1800 processor and 32mb onboard graphics which isnt quite up to using my monitor at its optimum res with full colour. If i select full colour it only lets my monitor go to 768 by 1024.
I have an agp 4X slot. I'm not a games user so i dont need a high power card, i have seen this on ebuyer

would this be suitable for my machine, or is anything else recomended.
many thanks

I have a PCI version of this happily feeding - at full colour a 1440x900 monitor

the optimum i believe is 1280 by 1024 (its a samsung 19") This setting on another pc is great but when i use this res on this pc in question it only allows 16 bit colour. Im sure its a graphics card would make all the difference I just want to be sure it will work on this motherboard

the agp card will work ok, if it is 8x and you have a 4x motherboard it will work at 4x.
