Is your CD ROM drive set as the first boot priority device in BIOS?

If boot from CD isn't an option:

Are you booting with a floppy?

Could be that a different floppy might work - try one from click here

i made a fresh boot disk this afternoon from in bios i have tried having floppy first and also cd rom first. it boots from floppy up till the menu option, either boot with or without cd rom support. when i ask for with cd rom support it tries to load up, but says it cant find any cd rom devices, and then aborts install.

its jumperless, so i cant change a lot on that front. i have tried different drives, cables etc. all seated ok.
