Advice please on upgrading notebook RAM

  realist 10:39 10 Jun 2010

Looking to improve Grandson's aged (2005) Evesham Quest Explorer S26 Plus notebook AMD Sempron Mobile Windows XP Home.

It currently only has 512MB RAM and part of that is used for graphics.

The existing sticks are 2 x 256MB DDR333 CL2.5 200 pin.

Will any upgrade (up to 2GB) fit if it has exactly the same spec?

This pc spec is not identifiable in upgrade advisors which always report it has 2x512MB installed!

I happen to have 2 x 512MB sticks (removed from Asus netbooks) but these are 200pin DDR2 PC2-6300 and presumably would not be compatible?

Many thanks in advance for any advice.
