Advice on Graphics card please.

Hello, I'm a complete novice when it comes to computers. At the moment I have a AMD Anthlon(tm)xp 2000+ 1.67 1.67GHz and 480mb of ram. My graphics card is a S3 Graphics pro savageDDR.
My computer wont run some games for instance Splinter cell. I want to upgrade my graphics card and need advice on what to get and what ones are compatable with the computer. I am willing to spend upto £100-00 but prefer less. My computer has windows XP on it. Thanks.

A TI4200 is the most popular and plays games well, costs a bit more than £100. You could go for ati 9500pro which can use dx9 when games start using it.

i agree for £100 the 4200 is about the best
if you want cheaper the new 5200 start at about £50 or 5200 ultra which is £100 but has dx9 support
another choice is a radion 9200

i also have amd xp but 2100 my graphics card is a old geforce 2 i run splinter cell ok but i have
reached the end now so i have been looking in the end i decided first how much do i want to spend then see what i can get for my money

the reason i would consider the 4200 is better than 5200 ultra is if you check a few reviews they compare it to the 5600
