ADSL Router difficulty with updating

  awest3 19:07 13 Apr 2005

I am running XP home edition SP2 on a new Dell 5000. I have recently installed this machine.
I moved my ADSL router to this machine and it does everything it supposed to. My problem is I cannot get into the configuration file. Instructions say enter click here in the web browser and a user name and password dialog will come does not...I just get a page not found msg. I can ping and tracert the address no problem..

any ideas..?

Omit the http//: and just enter

Hi Grahamp,

Thanks for your suggestion..I'm afraid that when I entered simply went off to search the internet for

I've run IPconfig and it shows the LAN address to be ..but it still says page cannot be displayed.

I think something must be stopping me accessing it..I'll have another look..

Found a peice of software which scans the ip addresses called Superscan..

It showed I had another address level to add to you know what it is you simply use http:\\'the other address' number...can be between 2 and 65532 apparently..

anyway problem fixed
