ADSL via router - cannot browse web

  covkitty 13:16 05 Sep 2003

I have installed a router to try to connect to Telefonica's broadband service here in Spain, having failed to do so with their Vitelcom modem. But as before, everything is correctly installed, and still I am unable to browse the net, as when I open Internet Explorer it tells me that I am offline and will not let me connect. At the same time, the router is telling me that it is up and running. Any ideas would be welcomed, as this has been a costly exercise.

Can I presume that the connection is set to use LAN instead of dial-up by default?

When you start internet explorer youneed to go to file, and untick work off-line. Regards, Kevin

Have you got telefonicas router ??

if so have you got three green lights ?

If you only have the top two, then it is not connected at their end.

They let out their ASDL to a different company and unless you can speak fluent Spanish get someone who is to phone for you, cos they wont talk in English.....
