ADSL filters

A quicky, I think: do I need to put a microfilter onto the phone line at the wall, even though I will not have a phone connected to it at any time?

Thanks as always, Dio.

NO! Morning Dio!

Confirm the NO, and reminder about things like Digiboxes that do need a microfilter.

1 filter for every piece of equipment.

sky box

fax machine

answering machine

filter fits between equipment and line socket.

No equipment = no filter required

Thanks for all that. It will save a few pounds!

All the best, Dio

Should you require any filters, I find the cheap £1.25 ones from eBuyer work great.

Fruit Bat /\0/\ is correct in his/her posting but, if you run two or three items such as extension phones and an answering machine from a telephone adapter, you only need to plug the adapter into the splitter.

I run my old dialup modem from one of the adapter's outlets and use the other for a telephone extension cable. This houses, at the other end, another telephone adapter, which serves the main cordless phone and the answering machine.
