ADSL BB work, phone dead, what could be problem?

My phone is completely dead (no noise, no dial tone, nothing) today, but ADSL BB is still working. What could be the problem?

This gets me puzzled because phone and adsl BB use the same line. BT exchange faults? Very difficult to speak with anyone in BT, but reported faults via net (thank god it is still working).

Have you tried removing the microfilter and just inserting the phone plug?

Could be a dodgy micro-filter.

Big storm and flood today. Anything to do with it?

call 151,

All 4 phones kocked out by lighting? Seems unlikely.

report it anyway and if not responded to quickly claim off their loss of service agreement.

Storms are probably the culprit.

Broadband involves sending the signal split into two different frequencies (one for voice, the other pc data), so it would be possibly for one to be working but not the other.

Has anyone nearby experienced the same problem - or just you?

My phones been dead for a while, yet my ADSL still works(or will until BT decide the lines not in use and deactivate it completely)

3 microfilters, 4 phones, cannot be all knocked out the same time.
