doing a clean up and wanted to remove a game my daughter downloaded ages ago which she has outgrown, but some elements could not be removed, and i have to manually remove items related to application. Unable to delete registry value 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce\family_model'.

Probably better to use a registry cleaner such as RegSeeker click here

If the entry still remains afterwards, I wouldn't worry about it.

You can also delete startup items in RegSeeker, just select the option.

Just to add, the best/safest way of uninstalling software (IMO) is:

1. Run the uninstaller

2. If the folder remains, throw it in the recycle bin (as long as there is nothing in it you wish to keep)

3. Run a registry cleaner

It is generally good practice not to manually edit the registry unless you absolutely have to.
