Hi just wondering if there is anyway of adding a password to my briefcase on the desktop so that no one else can access it if not can i do it on a normal folder. Running win/98 se?
You can do with XP but I don't think you can with 9X. How about shoving the briefcase in a Zip (compressed folder) and password protecting that?
Cheers i will give it a try but i was hoping for an easy way out of interest how do you do it with xp?
Under NTFS just use permissions.
You could try these freeware programs: Cryptainer LE -click here or ABI-CODER - click here to password protect sensitive files/folders.
sorry i'm ignorant but my sis has xp puter so when you say NTFS i dont really know what that means where would i find this also is it simple to do. cheers
Open My Computer, right click on C drive, Properties. It will tell you if NTFS or FAT32.
Misters NTFS is the platform that Windows sits on. Its either that or FAT32. Permissions are used in NTFS.
