Add a password to a CD

  Steinmanstorm 17:59 09 Sep 2005

Hi folks.
I have much personal info that I want to put on a CD, but would need to add to the contents from time to time. So, I'd like to password protect the CD, so it can only be read or added to if password used. Can it be done?

This depends on how delicate the info is,i suppose there are freeware apps that can do this, but they can be easily "cracked" if you wont good security you may be better off buying a good program that is written specifically for this job, again depending how much you wont to spend and how delicate the info is.You get what you pay for.

Why not add the files to a archive file and password protect that? (You can use something like "7-Zip" for this [click here])

Encrypting the files might be your best bet. This is excellent, free, and very easy to use. click here
