Ad Aware,cant remove critical object

I have just scanned my PC,and Ad Aware has detected a critical object.I have tried to remove and quarantine ,but nothing is happening.

The following is stated...

Redirected Hostfile Entry

is that all the info given,i would expect to see more ,such as
[500000308] IP Address: Host Name: (then website) possibly 4 entries.

This was a false positive a while back but an update fixed this issue.

Have you updated Adaware recently ? if not,i suggest you do and the patch will fix your problem.

Hi skidzy,

Yes there is more info....

There is 9 entries when I expand the Redirected Hostfile Entry.

It states Host file entry then an IP address Hos....

I thought was the IP address you used to test your connection ?.

Any ideas???

It's your HOSTS file as you've surmised (and been told) - if you're using Spybot it will replace the default with a new one, other anti-spyware products can prevent changes to the HOSTS file of any kind. If you only have 9 entries, and none of them look suspicious you have nothing to worry about.
