ACTIONTEC Router ... NTL B/Band

  JimButler 18:57 24 Feb 2006

Hello, I am trying to secure a friends OPEN network. I used Ethernet Cable to connect my Lap to the Router. I used my browser to access the routers IP and believed I added encryption and Saved my update... it was very straightforward.
2 Points
1) I did not make a good job of it. I still can get unsecured access to his network.
2) At no point was I asked for an ID or password. My BT router at home requires these before allowing any "Advanced" changes to its setup.

Any Network Wizz out there who can assist ?
I am not a novice altho n/wrk stuff does leave me scratchin` my head more times than I would consider healthy.

OK Solved. I connected remotely. Selected password ( altho I did not change it ). Made changes ( added 128 bit WEP ). Disconnected. Changes then took effect.
