Acronis True Image 6.0 query

How can I check if the image is ok and not corrupted, the reason I ask is last week I had a serious problem which resulted in me trying to re-install the image. It wouldn't install can't remember the error but I reckon there was something corrupt during the initial imaging as a few errors cropped up. As I didn't get any discs with this PC I reckoned taking an image would be a lifesaver but it didn't work out that way. I've now taken an image immediately after a re-format before any other software is on there, how do I know if that'll work?

The only way I can think of is to try it out.

Legolas, does it delete everything on the HDD before it tries the disc to see if it's ok? This is what appeared to happen last time and I don't want to have to go through that again seeing as I've spent all week putting stuff back on. TR
