Acronis Backup Puzzle

  rawprawn 12:30 28 Feb 2008

I have just replaced my external HDD which died on me last week. I have just backed up to it, but instead of making a backup such as G:/Acronis/Backup with about 38GB showing it has made nine in total G:/Acronis/Backup.tib 1,2,3,4 5,6,7,8,9 all adding up to what it shoud be.
I haven't changed anything and have made a Full Image not Incremental.
Can anyone explain, I thought I knew Acronis fairly well.

I suspect your new HDD is formatted as FAT32 which has a file size limit of 4 GB. Acronis has therefore chopped the backup into smaller chunks. If you Convert the drive to NTFS this won't happen.

Thank you for that, I hadn't formatted it to NTFS. I just didn't think to look.
