Hello All - I have just bought a new Acer TC-885 desktop pc with a wireless mouse/keyboard option. I've tried to set this up but the wireless keyboard DKRF41B04J refuses to work (battery has been installed). The wireless mouse option powers on ok.
I've checked the instruction leaflet and it advises to install a USB receiver into one of the pc ports so the keyboard can synchronise ok.
I've checked all the packaging and there is no USB receiver. I've contacted the company who sold me the pc and they say that a USB receiver isn't part of the package.
I've never used a wireless keyboard/mouse option before - am I missing something with the keyboard set up?
I would have just used keyboard/mouse from my current pc but the connections for these don't match my new pc.
On some HP mice the USB receiver is inside the mouse itself and you need to unlock the top surface and remove it to find the receiver inside.
Also on some you need to press a small inset button on the keyboard in order to connect it to the receiver.
Does this help
click here OP gives the model number in his post as keyboard DKRF41B04J
Thanks for your replies. I managed to find the missing usb receiver tucked away inside the mouse battery door - didn't even notice it when I was installing the mouse battery :)
Keyboard and mouse up and running ok now - At least I'll know what to do next time I get a new keyboard.
Thanks again for all your help everybody - Paul
