Acer Aspire touchpad not working

Hi there

My neighbour has bought round his acer aspire 5315. The touchpad stopped working after a baby played with it.

Any ideas on how to restore it?

I would make sure the touch pad did not some how get turned off. Go into the menu, if you're working with XP/ Vista it should be in the control panel under mouse. There should be a tab that has an option for the touchpad. It might open up a window, either way there will be something that gives you an option for enabling or disabling it. Make sure that it is enabled.

On my wife's Aspire, there's a button for wi-fi. It's very low profile, and she keeps accidentally pressing it - and then wonders where her Internet connection's gone. I wonder if the laptop you're talking about has a similar button for the touchpad? Sounds like the kind of thing a baby could easily mess up...
